I have been working on a spicy CGD for a while and after experimenting with a variety of spices, it's ready! Spicy CGD is still sodium & sugar-free, still requires NO refrigeration and has the same long shelf-life.......but now has a fabulous kick! Spicy red pepper flakes & a few other ground peppers kick the flavor into high gear. I used it on a beautiful piece of sea bass. I marinaded the sea bass with Spicy CGD for about 20 minutes and then broiled. Absolutely delicious! Look for Spicy CGD in a store near you soon.
Green Bean/Egg Salad
This is a super easy, delicious salad for brunch. Great for vegetarians, but everyone likes it so make plenty!
I buy 2 or 3 large handfuls of green beans (but get more if you're feeding a large crowd)
1 large Red Onion, sliced thin
CGD - Crazy Good Dressing
Cut off the ends of green beans and wash. Cut them in half so they are bite-sized pieces. Heat CGD over a medium-high heat in a large frying pan. Use enough CGD to coat the bottom of the pan. Once hot, add onion slices and cook, stirring, until onions are soft, about 5 minutes. Add green beans (and more CGD to coat beans if needed). Coat, tossing/stirring occasionally. Continue cooking until beans can be pierced easily with a fork. (at this point, you can cook longer and brown beans if desired). Remove from heat and cover to keep warm. In a small frying pan, poach or fry eggs (whichever you prefer). Put bean/onions in individual portion bowls and top with 1 egg and crumbled feta.Added bonus? No salt or sugar!!! Enjoy!!!
I make this when I demo CGD at stores and customers love it! Again, so easy and tasty. You can now buy spiralized veggies at most stores so you don't need a spiralizer to enjoy this dish. Choices are zucchini, butternut squash, sweet potato and beets. I love all of them, but featured here are zucchini and butternut squash.
Serves about 4
2 packages spiralized veggies of choice (or spiralize your own using 2 zucchini and 1 large butternut squash)
Crumbled feta (1 large container)
CGD - Crazy Good Dressing
Dump veggies in a large bowl. Using kitchen shears, cut veggies into bite-sized pieces. Add crumbled feta & toss to combine. Add CGD (enough to coat, 1/3-1/2 cup). Mix again. Let sit for about 10 minutes and serve. Very tasty! AND no salt or sugar here!
CGD Now Available in Restaurants! Well, one restaurant so far - a wonderful little place, called Evelyn's Wine Bar, in Buffalo, MN. A MUST visit!
Evelyn's Wine Bar is a fabulous little bistro that serves a wide variety of wines, delicious salads, flatbreads and other treats. Kristi, the owner, uses CGD on her salads and flatbreads and as a dip for bread....one bottle, endless uses. I highly recommend you spend a day visiting Buffalo's fabulous shops and stopping at Evelyn's for HH or a delicious lunch or dinner. Tell Kristi Susan sent you!!
Green beans are out in force right now and so appealing! Here is a fabulous way to prepare them. Heat up a large, non-stick pan (medium high heat). Add enough CGD to coat the pan. Heat a few minutes. Add washed and trimmed green beans. Cook in pan - tossing or flipping every few minutes. Cook until beans can be pierced with a fork, about 10 minutes. Some beans will be browned. I like mine blackened and cook a bit longer. When done to your preference, turn off heat, let sit for a few minutes and enjoy! Crazy good!!!!!
